How do you do a cash advance?

Must be a stupid question since no one here asked how to yet, but how do you get a cash advance? I was looking up earlier about withdrawing money from your credit card, and I see people answering, “do a cash advance“. Now I’m wondering HOW do you do that?

Just call customer service and request a pin number for that credit card. Your pin number will arrive in the mail within 7-14 business days. Once you receive that pin, just type in the number at any ATM. But, beware, cash advances charge higher interest rates then the purchase itself. I would say save your money the old fashioned way.

You can do as the first person said, or call your bank (if you have an account somewhere) and ask them if they can do a cash advance for you. If they do it, you won’t need a pin number.

You can go to a bank and do a cash advance. Usually most banks have a cash advance machine where they run your credit card through just like at a store. You usually don’t need an account with the bank to do the cash advance and the bank won’t charge you any fees for doing a cash advance, but the credit card company will. It’s usually a high interest rate, so I would recommend only doing a cash advance if it is an emergency. Also, if you have a pin number for you credit card, you can go to an ATM machine and withdraw it from there, but you will get charged by that ATM for using the machine.
